Dear brothers and sisters in Christ,
Oh, what a glorious spring! This Easter season has brought me great hope and renewed love for all of us in our diocesan movement. The Community Weekend, while undersubscribed, was a wonderful time of prayer, song, fellowship, worship, and learning. The Lord provided us with a beautiful weekend at Camp Easter Seal and we were all able to have plenty of time to enjoy nature’s beauty so amply provided to us. My special thanks to Ted Simpson, Connie Smith, John Symonds, and The Rev. Roger Robbillard for their workshops. I also want to thank our bishop, Bishop Jones, for his participation and strong words of guidance and encouragement. I firmly believe that we all came away from the weekend with a renewed sense of purpose and enthusiasm. Much like our Cursillo Weekends, we were reminded that our role in the world is to be an example of and beacon for Christ so as to bring others to the joy that we share in Him. We also came away with a clear understanding of our potential to be a force within the Diocese to lead workshops, Vestry meditations, and other tasks as might aid our shared ministries.
Some very good news came out of our discussions on the weekend. Firstly, it looks like we will be having a newsletter again after a long absence. Be looking for it in your mailboxes, in your email, and on the web site sometime this summer. Secondly, much work has been accomplished to get Episcopal Cursillo in the Diocese of Virginia certified tax-exempt. This should greatly enhance our ability to get the word out to you by keeping our postage costs low enough so as to make mailings practicable. Lastly, it looks like there is a very real possibility that we will finally become a line item on the diocesan budget.
I am continuing to ask for your prayers for our movement here in Virginia, for the Secretariat, our Church, and each other. To do this work with you requires that we all stay in touch and pray and pray and pray some more. If you can find it in your budgets, a donation to the movement is always appreciated and all checks should be mailed to your treasurer, Dave Wright at:

These are exciting times for us all and I pray that each and every one of you will continue to live your 4th Day with purpose and dedication. Group together regularly to strengthen each other. Attend your local Ultreya (or start one if you don’t have one to go to) so that we all might be encouraged. Lastly, hold each other in prayer and live in the joy we have been given!
Ultreya!!
