He was inspired by his experience at the Church of the Good Shepherd in Burke, where the church was set on fire by Cursillistas (spiritually, not literally). His primary concern is with the growth of the Church. Bishop Jones has seen people deeply moved and their lives changed and recommitted to Christ. To him, a Black Hole exists when we focus on what people who have become inactive want or need and how the movement can respond. To him, the focus needs to be on what God wants us as the Cursillo Movement to do and be.
As a parish priest, he saw a deep love of the Sacraments come off Cursillo weekends, and that was a great gift. How many vestries could Cursillo inspire? What could the Servant Community say to a vestry?
The main thing that Bishop Jones says he's learned is that the true vision comes from God. He believes that if he has said something inspired by God, it will strike so many hearts that many will know it. How could the Cursillo Movement change the environment, not for Cursillo, but for Christ?
